This was painted from a photo taken on a cross-country trip a few years ago. I shot photos of several barns that had been abandoned and will soon be gone.

Blue Mountains
This is a small watercolor I did today from a rather uninspiring photo….just goes to show you what some color will do. In looking at it now, I wondered if it doesn’t make a better picture cutting out the gold meadows and everything under it and focusing on the mountains.

Tree Mallow
Here’s today’s playtime! 7 X 5 watercolor of ink drawing. Subject: Tree Mallow (Lavatera maritima bicolor) I love those botanical names. I just can’t remember them. I guess that’s another reason I’m not a botanist!
Pastel Path
I went back to pastels today, but chose a difficult paper to work on. Finally, got what I thought was a loose, dreamy landscape (5 X 7), but the photo is mushy. I may have moved while focusing. By the time I discovered it, the light was gone and I want to take this one out of doors. Anyway, here’s today’s effort.
