This is a 9 X 12 pastel of a farm in Kansas….well, two farms. I took two shots several years ago and combined them for this painting.
And finally……………..
I hope you enjoyed seeing the steps.

I love many things about this project, watching the progress.
-The way you merged two source inspirations into one piece
- How the horizon came together
- The vibrancy of the clouds
- The remnants of the fence rail
Excellent
Thanks, Thom. I rarely copy my photos exactly. I use then as a jumping off point. I think I’m done with this one, but I have to live with it awhile to be sure. I have some minor things I’ve seen already, so it’s probably going back on the easel once more………then I think I’ll frame it.
This one is a keepter! It was fascinating to see the progression. Lovely work! The last steps made the whole scene come alive.

Thanks, Leila. I have a couple of picky things I think I’ll change and then on to framing!
I really like the clouds! They really stand out.
Thanks, Doris. They look better in person than the photo.
